  • All the normal general practice care services that you would expect, from a team of experienced GPs and our nurses, phlebotomists, community midwife and health visitor
  • ‘Choose & Book’ appointment system so that if you need to see a hospital specialist our doctors can electronically reserve you a convenient appointment with the hospital of your choice directly from the surgery
  • Electronic access to pathology test results so that we can speed up the time it takes to investigate your problems
  • Family planning and women’s health (including cervical cytology, HPV immunisation, contraception, coils and implants)
  • Child health surveillance
  • Minor surgery
  • Minor accidents and injury treatment
  • Childhood and travel immunisations (including Yellow Fever immunisation which is available to anyone, not just patients registered with us)
  • Joint injections
  • Ear syringing
  • Specialist clinics for warfarin blood checks which are analysed immediately at the surgery
  • Computerised lung function testing
  • ECGs
  • Heart failure, asthma, diabetes and stroke clinics
  • NHS Health Check clinics for people aged between 40 – 74 years of age to identify, and manage, risk factors for heart disease, stroke, kidney disease or type 2 diabetes

Enhanced NHS Services

  • The practice can provide NHS family planning services to anyone living in the Cartmel Peninsula area, including temporary residents, even if you are registered with another practice.
  • We fit coils (IUCDs) and contraceptive implants (Nexplanon).

How we provide our services to you

  • Same-day appointments are available every day, Monday to Friday, for urgent cases
  • Home visits are offered, when appropriate, for people unable to travel to the surgery
  • All our patients can be seen at either of our surgery premises – our electronic record keeping system means that we always have access to your notes, whichever surgery you choose to come to
  • Early and late appointments are available outside normal working hours
  • Telephone consultations can be held with the GPs
  • Visitors to the area can be seen under the NHS as temporary residents
  • Specialist examinations, which are not covered by the NHS, including HGV medicals, elderly driver medicals, pre-employment medicals and insurance work are offered and charged at standard rates
